McGill: Meet the Interns

Tal Golan:

My name is Tal I’m going into my second year in the McGill school of environment and I’m from Boston. I’m very excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with local Peruvians in their home rainforest. I look forward to connecting with new people and exchanging ideas and learning!

Maya Hassa:

I am going into my third year of studying Renewable Resource Management at the McGill School of Environment and absolutely cannot wait to spend the next six weeks in the Amazon rainforest! I have been looking forward to this internship all year, especially experiencing the magnificent biodiversity I will be surrounded by and forming a relationship with the community of Santo Tomas. I hope to come back knowing everything there is about traditional uses of medicinal plants found in the Peruvian jungle and would also be very happy if I got to see a pink dolphin!!

Geneviève Brulé-Ouellette:

My name is Geneviève, I am finishing my degree in International Development Studies with a minor in Environment. I believe we can make a difference by the concrete actions we take every day. I am a curious, outdoorsy person and this summer internship is a great opportunity to go beyond the classroom and assess the reality of the community.

Maja Pitcairn:

I’ve been looking forward to this trip for months, and now that the time has finally come I’m feeling nervous but very excited about what is to come! I’m psyched to be in the Amazon, to experience living off the grid, and communicating with locals about the native flora and fauna.

Jessica Frattolillo:

Having just graduated from McGill University, I am very much looking forward to this trip! I’m excited to experience different cultures first hand and learn more about the Amazon’s ecology.
