The heart of South America, the heart of a new adventure

The suitcases are beginning to be packed, the travel sized bottles filled with essential things, and the frequent visits to the near by CVS for last minute medications are starting to become comical. There is a frenzy of chaos, mixing both excitement and fear around all of us. We are four girls who are about to embark on a mission that will that will land us far from home in a place that none of us have ever been…and we can’t wait to get started!

The proper thing to do, as people do in real life, is to introduce our project intern team that will be working with Sustainable Bolivia and CECAM on creating new sustainable technology for the community in Cochabamba, Bolivia for 6 weeks this summer starting Tuesday (I still can’t believe it’s that soon!). To make it a bit easier I Facebook stalked all of my fellow interns and found photos that I thought best showed all of our personalities (creepy, maybe, but still effective).

Andrea and Pascale (the person currently writing this blog) go to Boston University. Andrea is now a junior at BU and Pascale is a senior (how scary is that!). Keara and Carrie are both juniors at Boston College. It isn’t hard to decipher that we all have a deep love for travel and all things international, especially sustainability and learning about new cultures. There is nothing more beautiful then breaking out of your comfort zone and letting in something that at the beginning may seem different and weird to you, but by the end can become a part of your life and therefore a new part of you.

We are all open to the incredible culture, people, and experiences that Bolivia will bring us with the hope to grow as human beings each step of the journey. Here is the place where you, dear readers, will hear of our trials and tribulations. Here is where we will write about the good and the bad. There are challenges ahead, but there are also moments that we will have that we will never want to forget. To both of those we say let them come!

Look out for a plethora of photos, videos, and words of a journey still to come. We can’t wait to share our experiences with you and hope that in a small you can feel as if you too are on the adventure.

Much more strange and beautiful events to come!

All of our love,

The BU/BC Nourish International Chapter (Andrea, Pascale, Keara, and Carrie)
