Hello! Alex and Dylan, the Rice University interns here again, checking in before our third week. The construction of the dearly needed bridges came to a close at the start of this week, as the majority of the project was completed either last week or over the weekend. We spent the remaining days traveling to the village of Santa Cruz to meet with town officials and the students of the school that we have designated as our project. The solar panel infrastructure that already exists at the school was tested, and found to be working, all that is needed is a battery bank, and the associated electrical equipment. In addition, Principle Harry, our premier contact in the village, brought to our attention the need for running water in the newly constructed cafeteria. The costs for an electric pump easily fit within our project budget, in addition to the costs for the battery bank ad electrical equipment. This weekend in Iquitos, the appropriate supplies will be picked up, and we hope to have the electricity working by the next update!
