Our team has worked hard in the past few weeks preparing to head straight from school to Golpalpur-on-the-Sea in Odisha, India. Now that we all have finished our intern training and have worked through the flight logistics, all that’s left to do is pack and head out from Dulles!

We are all anxious and ready to start our projects after heading off the jet-lag. Upon arriving in Bhubaneswar, India we will take a bus ride from the airport to the convent where we will be staying.

We have spent a lot of time going over our concerns for the adjustment period, but at this point we are still expecting to be thrown into a whirlwind of new experiences in the coming weeks and are super thrilled. Embracing uncertainty has been a major part of the process thus far but it has only added to the excitement and anticipation of the trip. As a group we are focused on approaching it all with an open and ready to learn attitude, listening and learning things very different than what we are used to, and applying our knowledge and skills to empathize with and empower people and the project to progress.
