The Pack Heads to India

Warm Wolfpack greetings from Raleigh, North Carolina!
My name is Maddie Afshar and I am the Project Intern Team Leader from the North Carolina State University chapter of Nourish International.
For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, Nourish International is a non-profit that works with the help of students to combat global poverty and empower the communities in which we serve. This summer, our chapter has partnered with the Sehgal Foundation. Through the implementation of various community-led initiatives, the Sehgal Foundation strives for positive environmental, economic, and social change, including gender equality and women’s empowerment, in India’s poorest rural areas.
For the next six weeks, our NC State intern team including myself, Soumya Nadabar, and Mackie Raymond (three musketeers? three blind mice? ..team name TBD) will be working with the Sehgal Foundation in the Mewat District of Haryana, India on a life skills program for local adolescent girls.
We are thrilled to have this opportunity to make a difference while representing NC State, excited to soak up the Indian culture, and still trying to figure out how to use this new GoPro (clearly). Follow our weekly posts to see what the team is up to!
