My name is Daniel Riggs, and I’m an upcoming Junior at Indiana University where I study Public & Nonprofit Management, Spanish, and Portuguese. As last year’s Awareness Executive for the IU Nourish International chapter, I worked to raise money and pursue both our organization’s mission and that of our sister organization, Mayan Families. On the trip, I most look forward to making a positive, sustainable impact on the lives of the Guatemalan people.
My name is Paige Robison. I am a junior at Indiana University in Bloomington majoring in psychology and pursuing premed. I intend on becoming a pediatric hematology oncology physician after my undergrad at IU. I am originally from Elkhart, Indiana, a city in nothern Indiana near Notre Dame. Fun fact, I absolutely love kids and having the opportunity to work with them in Guatemala is absolutely amazing. I am excited to immerse myself in the Latin culture and experience more of what this world has to offer.
Hi. My name is Kiwon Sung and I am from South Korea. I’ve been in US for 10 months I just finished sophomore year at Indiana University majoring in economic consulting. I have Japanese minor also. I am not fluent in English and Spanish. This trip is very meaningful to me because I am testing myself, pushing to the border. I know it is not going to be easy but I am sure it will be worthy. I am so excited to venture all I can do here in Guatemala. Thank you.
My name is Connor Cole and I am a sophomore at Indiana University Bloomington. My studies are currently concentrated in Human Resources management, Spanish, and psychology. I am extremely thankful to have this opportunity to come to Panajachel, Guatemala. I am really excited about gaining a better understanding of the culture and language, while also lending a helping hand to Mayan Families to improve the lives of the citizens.
My name is Jessica Smith and I’m a Sophmore at Indiana University majoring in Journalism with a minor in Spanish. Even though I’ve moved around a lot as a child, I have spent the last few years with my family in Bloomington, Indiana and consider it my home. I’m most excited to learn more about the culture, expand my skills in speaking Spanish, and growing as a person. I’m very grateful and excited for this opportunity!
Hello my name is Brandon Johnston and I am the project leader for the Indiana University Nourish chapter’s 2015 trip to Guatemala! I just finished my sophomore year and I am now studying Communications and Culture with a minor in Spanish and Business. I am so excited for this opportunity and journey ahead of me, but I am even more excited to see the change and help that I know we are able to provide.
