Greetings from the McGill Project Amazonas team!!

 

For the past several months we have been rigorously preparing for our project in Peru – from learning key Spanish phrases (i.e. “Can we go for a jungle tour? / ¿ Podemos ir para un viaje a la selva ? ) to stocking up on bug spray to brainstorming Project ideas we would like to pitch to the host community in Peru. Now the moment is finally arriving and it’s so hard to believe! We are all so excited to see what kind of impact our Project will have this year, experience first hand the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon, and immerse ourselves in a new and different way of life. With only a few days left before the flight, and the pain of the vaccinations having subsided, we are only a bit nervous and very much looking forward to the next six weeks of interning.
